Finding Clarity in Chaos: Creating a Vision of Peace and Security

IPPNW Geneva Liaison Office is honored to host the European Regional Meeting, Finding Clarity in Chaos: Creating a Vision of Peace and Security, in Geneva Friday 11 April to Sunday 13 April 2025. The reasons for choosing Geneva are its unique role as an international city of peace and to celebrate the opening of the Geneva Liaison Office. The meeting will host guests from civil society, academia and politics to speak, participate in panel discussions, and address your questions. We are excited about this opportunity for our members to collaborate and plan our critical next steps to reaching our ultimate goal of preventing nuclear war and abolishing nuclear weapons.

On Friday night 11th of April from 18:00 onwards we will welcome all attendees with a keynote address and cocktail party at the Palais Anna et Jean-Gabriel Eynard, where Christina Kitsos, the Mayor of the City of Geneva will join us.
On Saturday 12th of April we will dine in the historic Bains des Pâquis restaurant on the lake front of Geneva.
Meeting
The two day meeting 12th – 13th of April 2025 will be convened at the IPPNW-Geneva Liaison Office facilities at SDG Solutions Space, Campus Biotech Innovation Park, 15 av. de Sécheron, 1202 Genève, Suisse between 08:30 – 17:30.
The agenda will cover many topics including:
- Current global risk of nuclear war with specific focus on Europe
- WHO’s Global Health and Peace Initiative
- Medical professionals’ role in the prevention of war
- WHA resolution on the “effects of nuclear weapons on health and health services”
- Interdependence between the two existential threats: nuclear war and climate crisis -how we can address both -create a new frame to reach out to peace and the climate movement
- IPPNW strategy planning & IPPNW European affiliate updates
- Regional Vice President and Student Representative elections
Deadline for meeting registration is 1 March 2025. Registration payment allows for full participation in the meetings and events, but does not cover accommodation.

Check in at the Manotel Hôtel N’vY is from 15:00. The hotel will provide you with a Geneva Travel card. Please open the following link for directions from the Cornavin station CFF, (Geneva main train station) to the Manotel Hôtel N’vY. Travel time from the station to the hotel approx. 6 minutes by bus or tram.
Please make sure you arrive in good time for our opening event on Friday night 11th of April at 18:00 at the Palais Anna et Jean-Gabriel Eynard to hear our guest Key note speakers in this beautiful historic building. Please open the following link for directions from the Manotel Hôtel N’vY to the Palais Eynard. Travel time from the Manotel Hôtel N’vY to the Palais Eynard is approx. 25 minutes by bus or tram. For students staying at the The Geneva Hostel please open the following link for directions from the Cornavin station CFF to the Geneva Hostel.
