During the NVMP symposium “How do democracy, nuclear weapons, and climate change influence each other?” on November 22, in Amersfoort, Herman Spanjaard, chairman of the Medical Polemology Study Fund Foundation (SSMP), presented the Verdoorn Prize to Angelika Claußen, Regional Vice President Europe of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), in honor of her long-term dedication to the medical aspects of nuclear war, including health, humanitarian, societal, and environmental consequences, and their scientific basis.
